Teaching and research in asylum and migration law have been part of the Faculty of Law at Charles University for over two decades. Centre for Migration and Refugee Law (CeMiReLa), established in 2022, builds on this longstanding tradition and brings together academics, researchers, and practitioners dedicated to the study and teaching of refugee and migration law.

What We Do

Teaching migration

We provide both a theoretical foundation and practical insight into national, European, and international migration and refugee law.

Research and publications

We collaborate on research with colleagues both in the Czech Republic and abroad, publish regularly, and actively participate in conferences.

Event organisation

We organise academic events, conferences, and public discussions. We connect key stakeholders from the public sector, the judiciary, non-governmental organisations, academia, and legal practice.

public debate participation

We contribute to policy development and explain important issues to the general public. We also engage with the media.
