Our Projects
Within the Centre, we participate in a range of scientific and research projects, both independently and in cooperation with Czech and international partners. Our projects focus on current aspects of migration, refugee, and residence law — for example, the legal framework of temporary protection, issues concerning the detention of minor children, and other related topics.
European cooperation in science and technology (COST)
CeMiReLa is now part of Blue Rights Action, an interdisciplinary network of European researchers focused on human rights at sea.
Za hranice bezpečnosti: role konfliktu v posilování odolnosti (CoRe)
We are part of the research team of a major project focused on examining the consequences of cascading societal crises. Our work addresses challenges related to the increasing influx of migrants into Europe, their status, and the level of protection they receive.
Shelter law-making: Legal response to massive migration caused by Russian aggression against Ukraine
The project, funded by the governments of the Visegrád Group countries, analyses the legal instruments adopted by public authorities in response to the unprecedented mass influx of people into the V4 countries resulting from Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
UNHCR
Within several projects we are working on, supported by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), we strive to make complex topics of migration and refugee law more accessible to the general public. In 2024, we signed a long-term memorandum of cooperation with UNHCR.
