Through empirical studies and experiments, it analyzes levels of tolerance toward different types of political expression and the impact of regulation on user behavior. Causes and Consequences of Disparities in Judicial Decision-Making and Access to Justice<\/span><\/span><span class=\"kt-blocks-accordion-icon-trigger\"><\/span><\/button><\/div><div class=\"kt-accordion-panel kt-accordion-panel-hidden\"><div class=\"kt-accordion-panel-inner\">\n<p><strong>Work Package Leader:<\/strong> Mgr. Michal \u0160olt\u00e9s, M.A., Ph.D. (Faculty of Law, Charles University)<br>This work package focuses on analyzing the causes and consequences of inequalities in court rulings. Using unique data from Czech and Dutch judges, it investigates discrimination in legal aid and the impact of judicial disparities on public trust in justice. The findings will contribute to a deeper understanding of, and potential remedies for, systemic inequalities in access to justice.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-pane kt-accordion-pane kt-accordion-pane-4 kt-pane6_d59a54-34\"><div class=\"kt-accordion-header-wrap\"><button class=\"kt-blocks-accordion-header kt-acccordion-button-label-show\" type=\"button\"><span class=\"kt-blocks-accordion-title-wrap\"><span class=\"kt-blocks-accordion-title\">Work Package 3: Information Support for Criminal Justice (PRECID): Using Information Tools to Reduce Disparities in Judicial Decision-Making<\/span><\/span><span class=\"kt-blocks-accordion-icon-trigger\"><\/span><\/button><\/div><div class=\"kt-accordion-panel kt-accordion-panel-hidden\"><div class=\"kt-accordion-panel-inner\">\n<p><strong>Work Package Leader:<\/strong> Assoc. Prof. Ing. Josef Montag, Ph.D. (Faculty of Law, Charles University)<br>The objective is to develop the PRECID software, which will provide judges with data-driven and algorithmic support for decision-making. The research explores how artificial intelligence can help reduce disparities in rulings, enhance judicial awareness, and increase transparency. The project also addresses the ethical and human rights implications of using AI in the justice system.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-pane kt-accordion-pane kt-accordion-pane-5 kt-pane6_7550ae-b8\"><div class=\"kt-accordion-header-wrap\"><button class=\"kt-blocks-accordion-header kt-acccordion-button-label-show\" type=\"button\"><span class=\"kt-blocks-accordion-title-wrap\"><span class=\"kt-blocks-accordion-title\">Work Package 4: Finance, Innovation, and Inequality<\/span><\/span><span class=\"kt-blocks-accordion-icon-trigger\"><\/span><\/button><\/div><div class=\"kt-accordion-panel kt-accordion-panel-hidden\"><div class=\"kt-accordion-panel-inner\">\n<p><strong>Work Package Leader:<\/strong> Mgr. et Mgr. Eva Horv\u00e1thov\u00e1, Ph.D. (Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University)<br>This work package investigates how technological and financial innovations impact wealth and income inequality. It focuses on the role of financial and energy literacy, which can determine who benefits from innovation. (Faculty of Law, Charles University)<br>This work package focuses on vulnerable groups (e.g., the elderly, individuals in long-term care) and how their position in society is affected by technological change. Jakub Hara\u0161ta, Ph.D. (Faculty of Law, Masaryk University)<br>This work package addresses the challenges of consumer protection in the digital environment, where manipulation occurs through tools such as &#8220;dark patterns&#8221; and deepfakes.
