Work Package Leader: Volker Kaul, M.Sc., Ph.D. (Faculty of Law, Charles University)
This work package examines how social media influence public discourse and contribute to societal polarization. Through empirical studies and experiments, it analyzes levels of tolerance toward different types of political expression and the impact of regulation on user behavior. The goal is to propose ways to cultivate public debate and strengthen democratic participation in the digital space.
Work Package Leader: Mgr. Michal Šoltés, M.A., Ph.D. (Faculty of Law, Charles University)
This work package focuses on analyzing the causes and consequences of inequalities in court rulings. The objective is to develop the PRECID software, which will provide judges with data-driven and algorithmic support for decision-making. The research explores how artificial intelligence can help reduce disparities in rulings, enhance judicial awareness, and increase transparency. The project also addresses the ethical and human rights implications of using AI in the justice system.
