- Josef Montag is Associate Professor at the Department of Economics and Empirical Legal Studies at the Faculty of Law, Charles University in Prague. He holds a habilitation in economics from Charles University and a PhD in Law and Economics from the University of Turin. His research focuses on inequality, discrimination, and criminal behavior and justice, with publications in journals such as the Journal of Housing Economics, Kyklos, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, and Journal of Quantitative Criminology. He has been principal investigator or co-investigator on a number of international and national research grants, including Horizon Europe and Czech Science Foundation projects, and currently leads the EU-funded Center for Inequality and Open Society. He also serves as Chairman of the Economics Panel at the Czech Science Foundation and is active in international academic networks and evaluation committees.
- Michal Šoltés is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and Empirical Legal Studies at the Faculty of Law, Charles University. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from CERGE-EI. He is also a Researcher at the Economics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IDEA) and Co-Chair of the Empirical Criminal Law Working Group within the European Society of Empirical Legal Studies (ESELS). His research lies at the intersection of public economics, law and economics, and empirical public policy, with recent projects focusing on sentencing disparities, public procurement, and tax compliance.
